Day 1: Split
Spend your first evening inside Diocletian's Palace, a Roman emperor's retirement home that is now a living neighbourhood of bars, shops and apartments.
Days 2–3: Hvar
Take the morning catamaran to Hvar Town. Hike up to the Spanish Fortress for views over the Pakleni islands, then hire a small boat or water taxi to explore their beaches.
Day 4: Vis
Vis was closed to foreign visitors until the 1990s and still feels untouched. Rent a scooter to reach Stiniva cove and book ahead for a boat trip to the Blue Cave on neighbouring Biševo.
Day 5: Brač and back
On the way back, stop on Brač for Zlatni Rat, a beach whose pebbly point shifts with the wind and currents. Ferries run back to Split in the late afternoon in time for your flight.
Good to know
- Book catamaran tickets online in July and August; they sell out.
- Water shoes make pebble beaches far more comfortable.
- Shoulder season (June and September) has warm seas and half the crowds.
