Flying with kids: a stress-free family guide

From choosing seats to keeping ears happy on descent. Practical advice for parents.

Before you book

Morning flights are usually more punctual and fit around nap times. Reserve seats together; on Classic and Flex fares seat choice is included, so the family won't be split up.

At the airport

Families with children under five can use priority boarding on all fares. Strollers can be taken to the aircraft door at no extra cost and will be waiting for you on arrival.

On board

Changes in air pressure can hurt little ears. Give babies a bottle or a dummy during take-off and landing, and give older children something to chew. Pack a small surprise bag with new stickers or a book to bring out halfway through the flight.

Good to know

  • Infants under two travel on your lap at a reduced fare.
  • Baby food and milk are exempt from the 100 ml liquid limit.
  • Download shows and games before leaving home.
