Your boarding pass, now always in your pocket

The AeroVista app stores your mobile boarding pass offline, so it is ready at security and the gate even without signal. Here is how it works.

Why we focused on the boarding pass

Of everything you do in our app, opening your boarding pass is the moment that matters most. It usually happens in a queue, with a bag on your shoulder and sometimes with weak airport Wi-Fi. So we have made sure your boarding pass is quick to find and works without a connection.

Once you have checked in, the boarding pass is downloaded to your phone and saved there. You can open it in airplane mode, in a basement car park or abroad with data roaming switched off.

How to get it

Check in through the app from 72 hours before departure. When check-in is complete, your boarding pass appears on the home screen for that trip. If you checked in on our website instead, simply add the booking to the app using your booking reference and surname, and the boarding pass will be added too.

If you are travelling with others on the same booking, each passenger gets their own pass, and you can swipe between them. That makes it easier for one parent to handle the whole family at the gate.

Your boarding pass stays available in the app until your flight has departed, and your trip history keeps the booking details afterwards, which is handy if you need to find an invoice later.

Using it at the airport

At security and at the gate, just turn your screen brightness up and hold the code to the scanner. Your pass shows your seat, your boarding group and the gate when it is known. If anything changes, such as a new gate or a new departure time, the app updates the information and sends you a notification.

Some airports and some routes may still require a paper document check for certain travellers. Keep your passport or ID card handy, as the boarding pass does not replace it.

A few practical touches

You can add your boarding pass to your phone's wallet for even quicker access. And if your phone battery is a concern, there is always the option to download a PDF or print a copy as a backup. We think most travellers will never need it, but it is good to have the choice.

Good to know

  • Open the app once after check-in while you have signal, to make sure the pass is saved.
  • Turn up screen brightness before you reach the scanner.
  • Carry a charged phone or a small power bank on travel days.
